Happy Halloween With Unpleasant Privacy Concerns The Day After?

Yay, it‘s Halloween tonight! Are you planning on going out tonight or have you already partied this weekend? In Germany, celebrating Halloween is not as common as it is in the US and if people party on October 31st, then it‘s all about vampires, witches, ghosts, werewolves and monsters. Still, it‘s the same here as it is in the US: If people party hard and if it comes to drinking alcohol, they tend to get careless. Formerly, this often meant that people sent text messages they later regretted. Today, people also publish content on social networks such as Facebook. The fun only lasts a few hours until the feeling of remorse comes the next day.

Acting in a responsible way even in casual party mood is part of the media competency today‘s internet users should learn. If you go to a party, be aware that this will not be a good situation for posting things online at all, especially if you‘ve drunk the one or other glass of wine. Still, these things happen. If this is the case, it‘ll be important to check for the posts as early as possible in order to avoid further hassles. It might not be too late to remove the post or to explain the circumstances to friends.

By the way, having asked around in our team, we found out that not everyone is into Halloween, but we still were able to compile some awesome and scary pics from the last years as you can see above. In Bavaria and some other German federal states there‘s the advantage of November 1st being a public holiday, so it‘s party time tonight anyways!
